1. Acceptance

By accessing or using GiveMeALawyer ("Platform"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, stop using the Platform immediately. These Terms apply to all visitors, consumers, and attorneys using the Platform.

2. What GiveMeALawyer is — and is not

GiveMeALawyer is an online attorney advertising directory. We provide a searchable index of licensed attorneys by city and practice area. We are not:

A law firm.
A lawyer referral service as defined by ABA Model Rule 7.2 or any state equivalent.
A substitute for independent legal counsel.

We do not recommend specific attorneys for specific legal matters, screen leads, receive referral fees, participate in fee-splitting, or evaluate the legal merits of any matter.

3. No legal advice — no attorney-client relationship

Nothing on this Platform — including profile information, blog posts, search results, or any content — constitutes legal advice.

Using this Platform to search for or contact an attorney does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and GiveMeALawyer, nor does it automatically create one between you and any attorney listed here. An attorney-client relationship is formed only when an attorney expressly agrees to represent you and a formal engagement is established.

Do not send privileged or confidential information through the contact forms on this Platform. GiveMeALawyer does not guarantee the confidentiality of communications submitted through the Platform.

4. Eligibility

The Platform is intended for users located within the United States who are at least 18 years of age. Attorneys must be licensed and in good standing in the state(s) where they hold themselves out as practicing.

5. Attorney responsibilities

Attorneys using the Platform represent and warrant that:

All profile information is truthful, accurate, and not misleading.
Their profile complies with the Rules of Professional Conduct in their jurisdiction, including rules on attorney advertising, specialization, and certifications.
They will notify us immediately if their bar license is suspended, revoked, or if they are subject to public discipline.

6. Accounts and security

If you register for an account, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at legal@givemealawyer.com of any unauthorized access.

7. Subscription plans and billing

We offer subscription tiers for attorneys. All payments are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically each month unless canceled. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. All fees are non-refundable except as required by law or where we have billed in error.

8. User content

By submitting content (profile descriptions, photos, etc.) to the Platform, you grant GiveMeALawyer a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with the Platform. You retain ownership of your content. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Post false, misleading, or deceptive information.
Transmit spam or unsolicited advertising.
Upload privileged or confidential client information.
Attempt to scrape, interfere with, or disrupt the Platform.
Impersonate any person or entity.

10. Intellectual property

All content, trademarks, and code owned by GiveMeALawyer are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. For copyright infringement notices, contact legal@givemealawyer.com or see our DMCA policy.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GIVEMEALAWYER DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE ACCURACY OF ATTORNEY PROFILE DATA, THE SUITABILITY OF ANY ATTORNEY FOR YOUR LEGAL NEEDS, OR THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.

WE DO NOT VET ATTORNEYS BEYOND BASIC BAR ADMISSION CHECKS. CONSUMERS ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR CONDUCTING THEIR OWN DUE DILIGENCE BEFORE HIRING AN ATTORNEY.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GIVEMEALAWYER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM.

OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE PLATFORM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE TOTAL FEES PAID BY YOU IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRIOR TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00).

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GiveMeALawyer and its officers, directors, and employees from any claims, damages, or expenses (including attorney's fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or any content you submit.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time for violation of these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time through your account dashboard.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by applicable United States law. Any disputes not resolved informally shall be handled in accordance with the dispute resolution process described in our full Terms of Service, which contains our binding arbitration provision.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
